Front Door Portico
Your front entrance is the first impression that your home makes on your guests. Whether you choose to remodel for aesthetic or functionality, we can guide you the through the remodeling process. For this project, our team built a front door portico to provide protection from the sun.
Demolition of Previous Portico
Although the front door already had a small awning, it did not provide the aesthetic or coverage that the customer wanted. The awning was removed and work began on building a bigger and sturdier structure.
Building Front Door Portico
A portico will protect your door from the weather elements that through the years will damage your door. Not only will it protect your home, but it will also protect you as well when you are trying to get in or out of the house in the rain.
This front door portico had a special design as the roof is curved. This detail matches the front entry steps which have a semi circle design. Additionally, the top of the portico is covered with copper. These features are particular of a colonial exterior design. Instead of columns, the customer chose to have the structure built with portico brackets.
Additional Benefits of a Front Door Portico
Whether you are hosting for a special ocassion or having family stay with you, your front entrance is the first thing they see as they are driving up to your home. Not only that but your front entrance is the main view during holidays throughout the year but especially for Halloween as families walk around trick-a-treating. Go the extra mile and not only decorate but invest in a front door entry remodel. If you are thinking about selling your home now or in the future, this type of remodel will have a huge impact on the potential buyers.
